The last witness took the stand Thursday in a murder trial of a man accused of killing his pregnant girlfriend and their unborn child.
The ex-girlfriend of the defendant, Diamonte Haithcoats, testified against him in a DeKalb County courtroom, but only after it was agreed her identity would not be revealed.
Haithcoats is accused of killing Shaniya Rodriguez, who was seven months pregnant at the time of her death.
His ex-girlfriend admitted she had bought him a burner phone and helped him hide from police. She does not face charges after agreeing to testify.

Channel 2’s Tyisha Fernandes reported the jury listened to a recorded police interrogation, hearing the defendant pretend not to know his pregnant girlfriend. He said this despite police already knowing she was carrying his child and the two were living together.
Once police started connecting the dots - telling the defendant how they have tons of evidence that proves he was with the victim - Haithcoats stopped talking altogether.
An FBI special agent analyzed both the defendant’s and the victim’s phones. He showed the jury evidence that even though Haithcoats says he wasn’t with the victim when she was shot and killed, phone records prove their phones were bouncing off the same cellphone towers at the time of the shooting.
The defense attorney said it doesn’t mean his client was at the crime scene.
